Green Tree Python (Morelia viridis)
Origin: Australia and the Pacific Islands
Sighted at: Texas Snake Farm, New Braunfels, Texas
The green tree python loves wrapping itself around branches. It considers self-branch-wrapping to be the coolest possible activity that anyone can engage in at any time.
Although they’re obviously known for their vibrant green coloration, green tree pythons are yellow or brown when they first hatch. Some rare pythongs will even take on a red or orange color. A collection of eggs belonging to a snake – or any bird, reptile, or amphibian, for that matter – is known as a “clutch.”
