Brown Anole (Anole sagrei)
Origin: Temperate North American climates
Sighted at: Castillo de San Marcos, St Augustine, FL
Last week, I went to St Augustine to celebrate the wedding of my sister, Kyle! No visit to St Augustine is complete with a visit to the old Spanish fort. My father and I watched a re-enactment of the guns being fired, and gawked at some of the old coquina-rock battlements.
This lizard was climbing around on one of the old turrets. One of the things I miss most about Florida is seeing lizards running around everywhere! We have lizards here in Texas, but they’re much more shy.
I’ve got a lot more animal photos from this trip to share, and even more in my backlog, so expect regular updates for a while!
