Eastern Cottontail (Sylvilagus floridanus)

Origin: North America
Sighted at: Pflugerville, TX

FINALLY, another photo! I haven’t had much opportunity to take photos since getting back to Texas: I need to get outdoors more regularly!

In fact, this pluckly little rabbit wasn’t seen on a nature trail or a forest hike: He was in the backyard of my friend Rachel’s house when I was there for an evening of grilling. Apparently he’s very fond of picking at her new tomato plants.

There are two other species of rabbit common to the Central Texas area. I’ll have to keep an eye out!
