Turkey Vulture (Cathartes aura)

The turkey vulture is a widespread American vulture. Also known as the buzzard or the carrion crow, it is actually unrelated to vultures found in Eurasia, which have a different ancestor entirely, despite similar appearances and similar ecological roles.
