Ruby-throated Hummingbird (Archilochus colubris)
Origin: North and Central America
Sighted at: Key West Botanical Garden, Key West, FL
This is from my Audubon Society visit to the Botanical Garden. I was the first to spot this tiny little hummingbird! It sat still for nearly 10 minutes, letting everyone in the group get a look!
According to the tour guide, hummingbirds will consume a ton of sugars very quickly, and then have to sit still to digest for a while, afterwards. I can relate!
