Northern Emerald Toucanet (Aulachorynchus prasinus)
Origin: Mexico and Central America
Sighted at: Dallas World Aquarium, Dallas, TX
The toucanet is a smaller relative of a toucan. Like toucans, they’re noteworthy for their long, sharp beaks, which they use to eat fruit, lizards, and eggs.
Wikipedia has this to say about the Emerald Toucanet: “The vent and tail-tip are rufous.” I do not know what that means.
