Black-crested Titmouse (Baeolophus atricristatus)
Origin: Southwest North America
Sighted at: Pedernales Falls State Park, Johnson City, TX
The State Park had a wonderful “bird blind” – a small room that disguised the presence of nearby bird-watchers from the native wildlife. It was a treat to simply sit in the quiet and watch birds arrive. This titmouse was one of many common species here in Texas that I’ve always seen but never managed to get a good photograph of – until now!
